Daniel Smithson is a session musician and a drum tutor whose career has seen him work with a diverse set of artists and bands. Including the likes of Jazz Jamaica, Dylema Collective, Das Brass Band, Nikkita, Aiva, Mabel Agbenorto, Terry Smiles Collective, C.A.M.P Choir, WTW Big Band, Jay Phelps, Spirit Agenda, Myke Masters Band, Mike Soul, Cliff and Marie, Cherise Adam’s Burnette, Rio Kai Quartet, Floor Rippers, Alan Weekes Trio, Tomorrow’s Warriors, Morley College Big Band and many other Gospel, Jazz and R & B artists.
He also teaches drums at three London secondary schools. He also delivers drum lessons & percussion workshops at WAC Arts also.
He has studied drumming with the likes of Rod Youngs, Troy Miller, Andrew Small, Steve Brown, Graham Fox, Courtney Daniels and in 2011 he completed a Music Degree at the London Centre of Contemporary Music and has a grade 8 drums certificate from the trinity rock and pop music exam.
